Track We Chose
We chose Track 3: Expressing <> Defining Self-Identity/Individual
What is the problem your solution addresses?
Like ourselves and many others, over 60% of college students report feeling stressed about job hunting and uncertainty about the future. Many students are overwhelmed by the “what ifs” and the pressure of having to figure everything out so quickly. In such a fast paced world, it gets really easy to lose sight of the importance of processing emotions and staying grounded. We may not be able to control the time, however what we are able to control is our emotions and how we go about overcoming obstacles ahead. Our app offers a space where users can slow down, journal, and explore their feelings.
Why did you pick this solution, and how does it address the problem?
Our app centers around journaling because as students juggling emotional stressors and heavy workloads, journaling provides an important outlet for self-expression and reflection. It’s a space where individuals can freely explore feelings, rant, and release thoughts without judgement. We designed our ap p to include features like collaborating journaling and scrapbooking where users can share experiences with friends and family, future diary entries that lets users write to their future self, and wellness feeds that provide content based on the users mood. Additionally, users can set personal goals and track their progress, encouraging growth and mindfulness. To create a clam and welcoming space, we chose the color green as it symbolizes calmness and is considered a calming color for the mind. We designed our app to to make navigating emotions as simple and intuitive as navigating the app itself.
