WellNest: Empowering Senior Health through AI 🏥 What is WellNest? WellNest is a comprehensive health management platform specifically designed to bridge the gap between complex medical routines and the accessibility needs of senior citizens. I built WellNest to solve a common problem: the overwhelming nature of managing multiple medications, tracking fluctuating vitals, and preparing for frequent doctor visits—all while dealing with the natural cognitive and physical changes that come with age.
🤖 Building with MeDo (Miaoda) My collaboration with MeDo was structured around a "Core-First" philosophy. We started by establishing a high-contrast, senior-friendly design system (WCAG AAA compliant) before moving into the complex data architecture.
Structured Dialogue: I used MeDo to iteratively define a 9-table relational database on Supabase, ensuring that medications, symptoms, and emergency contacts were perfectly synced. Iterative Refinement: MeDo helped me pivot the UI from a generic dashboard to a specialized "Large-Target" interface, ensuring every button (min 56px) was accessible for users with limited dexterity. 🌟 The Most Impressive Feature: AI Pill Identification The standout achievement of this project is the AI-powered Pill Recognition system. Using MeDo's advanced Edge Function deployment, I integrated the Gemini 2.5 Flash API. A user can simply snap a photo of an unknown pill, and the AI analyzes its shape, color, and imprint to automatically pre-fill medication details. This eliminates data-entry errors which are critical in a medical context.

Pattern Detection Engine: I used MeDo to build a custom logic layer in Supabase Edge Functions that monitors health logs in real-time. If it detects a recurring symptom (like 3 days of headaches) or abnormal vitals, it automatically surfaces an AI alert and can notify designated caregivers. Secure Report Sharing: We implemented a secure token system that generates time-limited (72-hour) health summaries in PDF format, allowing seniors to share a full month of adherence data with their doctors in one click. Key Highlights generated by MeDo: Accessibility First: Automatic injection of senior-friendly HSL color tokens and 18px+ typography across the entire app. Intelligent Automation: An appointment preparation system that triggers specific medical tips 48 hours before a visit. One-Tap Emergency Response: A persistent, high-visibility emergency button with automated escalation logic. WellNest represents a future where AI doesn't just make things faster—it makes health management safer and more dignified for our aging population.
