WellnessHub

WellnessHub is a health and fitness platform designed to help users improve their physical wellbeing. It offers personalized workout suggestions, body measurement calculators, and a simple note-taking feature to track progress.

Inspiration

WellnessHub was inspired by the need for personalized fitness tools that cater to individual health goals. We aimed to create a platform where users can easily track their physical wellbeing through tailored metrics and workouts.

What it does

WellnessHub provides:

  • Personalized Workout Suggestions: Based on user metrics like weight, height, and gender.
  • BMI Calculator: Helps assess overall health.
  • Body Fat and Lean Mass Calculator: Estimates body fat percentage and lean mass.
  • Notes Feature: Allows users to track their fitness progress and health insights.

How we built it

WellnessHub was built using:

  • Backend: Django to handle calculations, data storage, and user authentication.
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a smooth user interface.
  • Algorithms: Custom algorithms power the body measurement calculators and workout suggestions.

Challenges we ran into

  • Personalizing workout suggestions based on limited user input was a challenge.
  • Designing an intuitive interface to present complex health data in a simple and accessible way.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully integrating multiple health and fitness features into a single platform.
  • Creating accurate and useful body measurement calculators to guide users on their fitness journey.

What we learned

  • Managing both backend and frontend aspects of the project was a valuable experience.
  • We learned the importance of keeping interfaces simple and user-friendly while delivering complex data.

What's next for WellnessHub

  • Expand with progress tracking features (visual graphs).
  • Integrate with fitness apps and refine workout algorithms based on fitness level and goals.
  • Add a nutrition component for a more holistic health approach.
