Wellness Wizard

Inspiration

Our inspiration for creating Wellness Wizard was to contribute to healthcare through technology. We aimed to start small by developing a webpage that helps users identify their symptoms, offering useful tips, resources, and support.

What it Does

Wellness Wizard allows users to enter their symptoms or maladies into a chat box. Based on the input, Wellness Wizard, through the OpenAI API, generates an output that provides solutions to address their symptoms.

How We Built It

We built Wellness Wizard using Bootstrap for the frontend and the OpenAI API for the backend.

Challenges We Encountered

One of the challenges we faced was effectively embedding the OpenAI API into our webpage. It took some trial and error to get everything integrated smoothly. Furthermore, the OpenAI API doesn't currently work with our Vercel deployment on the web at the moment.

Accomplishments We’re Proud Of

We are proud to have the webpage up and running locally. Additionally, we customized the output response to align with our “wizard” theme and designed a background to enhance the user experience.

What We Learned

For many of us, this was our first time working with Bootstrap. We also gained experience with Node.js and the OpenAI API. Overall, we learned how to optimize our time to build this webpage and how to collaborate effectively as a team.

What’s Next for Wellness Wizard

The next steps for Wellness Wizard involve deploying it on a server instead of running it locally. We also plan to add new features to improve the overall user experience.
