Inspiration 💡 Inspiration
As a woman breaking into tech—especially cybersecurity—I noticed a big gap in the conversation: us. Real women. The ones juggling ambition, anxiety, imposter syndrome, caregiving, career changes, and still trying to glow up.
💻 What It Does Wellness Wallet is my love letter to women in tech—especially the ones just starting out. It fuses my two passions: protecting digital spaces and nurturing mental well-being.
This isn’t just a project. It’s a space to reflect, recharge, and feel seen—while also getting bite-sized cybersecurity tips that actually matter. Self-care meets cyber awareness. Period.
🛠️ How I Built It HTML / CSS / JavaScript for the front-end
Google Sheets as a DIY content backend
Sheet.best API to pull in real-time content
GitHub Pages for hosting + deployment
Canva for branding and visuals
Pacifico & Merienda Fonts to give it soft, feminine energy
VS Code as my ride-or-die editor
Each section—Mantras, Mood Check, Cyber Tips, and the Anonymous Journal Box—was built with a clean split layout. Everything pulls from my live Google Sheet, and emojis light up and show vote percentages to keep the vibe interactive.
😅 Challenges Whew, this project came for my whole neck:
Making the emojis both cute and functional was a brain pretzel (CSS + math = 🙃)
Sheet.best API clowned me more than once with data format issues
Making it responsive across devices while keeping the design ✨ aesthetic ✨
Balancing a tone that’s tech-savvy and tender? Had to rewrite it a few times to get it just right
But I made it through, debugged it myself, and built something I’m proud of. I’m not just learning tech—I’m living it.
🏆 Accomplishments I'm Proud Of I built a real wellness app by myself—from tracking moods to venting anonymously
Wrote every single piece of content myself. No AI fluff here—just my voice, my story
Hooked up Google Sheets + Sheet.best + VS Code without a dev team. Just me, myself & I
Debugged some real JavaScript/CSS issues like a champ (yes, even dark mode drama 😤)
Made a full demo video with a voiceover like I’ve done this before (spoiler: I haven’t)
And most importantly? I stayed authentic AF. No tech bro aesthetic, just a space that reflects me
📚 What I Learned This project stretched me—in the best ways.
How to work with REST APIs to pull live data
Building responsive, clean layouts with HTML/CSS
Writing JavaScript that’s interactive and accessible
Designing with both user experience and personality in mind
How to keep going even when I wanted to rage-quit over one damn missing semicolon
More than anything, I learned that I’m capable. I have a voice. And I can figure anything out with a little grit and a lot of Google.
