Inspiration
An estimated 40.9% of U.S. adults have avoided medical care during the pandemic because of concerns about COVID-19, including 12.0% who avoided urgent or emergency care.” And according to American Hospital Association (AHA), each year 3.6 million people in the United States do not obtain medical care due to transportation issues. This gave rise to the need for immediate access to healthcare providers. Therefore, I developed Wellness.
What it does
Wellness allows you to get free virtual medical help 24/7 so that you do not have to worry about COVID-19, transportation, or any other factors that can prevent you from receiving medical care.
How we built it
I made a web application using different languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Echo3d.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges I faced was narrowing down the list of functionalities to implement in 24 hours. There are a lot of things that can be done and the short listing was the hardest challenge.
Another challenge I faced was finding 3d anatomy models.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is my first hackathon and I am proud that I was able to make a functional website in 24 hours.
What we learned
I learned how to use Echo3d and how limited is the access to healthcare for some individuals.
What's next for Wellness
Introduce new specialties, new 3d models, and gather a new team of doctors.
