Inspiration
Many students every day go through with issues unbeknownst to their teachers. Our Wellness Journal solves this problem by letting students make their teachers aware of their problems that might prevent them from performing their best that day.
What it does
This web application enables students to say how they are feeling today truthfully. This can then be viewed by the teacher on their side of the account.
How we built it
Our front end is comprised of HTML and CSS. The backend was structured with Django.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were minimal. For example, our main replit stopped working, so we had to divert to a forked replit. It was the first time making a project in django and ran into some issues with saving users and forms. Also, we had a small issue with the background image not showing up, which was fixed shortly after the issue was announced.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the headway that was made with this project in the span of two days.
What we learned
We learned a lot about HTML and CSS coding to make our website aesthetic. As well as how to create a backend for that and then merge the two together.
What's next for Wellness Journal
Next, we plan on increasing the scalability, and possibly making more tiny fixes to make this a better website!
