Wellness Check

Inspiration

The idea for Wellness Check came from an article on the large gap in healthcare needs for the elderly during pandemic, as well as the desire to create a platform to get quality care remotely. Wellness Check is an easy to use platform for medical and daily use. It is easily customizable and has expandable architecture and is lightweight and affordable!

What it does

• Keeps track of medication dosages.
• Contact Nurse regarding medication problems.
• Slot booking from doctor's calendar without calling receptionist or going to the clinic.
• Get Password-Encrypted reports seating in the home.
• Articles to get information about nutritional foods, meditation, and medication.

How I built it

I began with the design thinking approach, which is based on correctly identifying and solving the right problem. It is a step-by-step process in which I began by clearly stating the problem statement and coming up with all possible solutions, which helped me get a complete picture of what is something that can directly benefit them. And, Then I created a mockup using Figma.

Challenges I ran into

The challenging part for me was coming up with a solution for seniors is different from the young generation and special attention needs to be taken care of for accessibility and easy use User-Interface.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that I was able to gather a solution for such a pressing problem and create an easy to use platform.

What I learned

Design thinking approach for properly understanding the problem statement and narrowing down the solutions to the most relevant, based on the user.

What's next for Wellness Check

• Mobile app counterpart
• More accessibility features like Voice to Text and Built-in narrator
• Tutorial walkthrough of product to further reduce the learning curve for seniors
• Embedded customer service email module, as well as a FAQ page
• Nurse dashboard
