Wellness Bot

Inspiration

Being college students who suffered a lot from various illnesses within a couple of months during our first years in college.

What it does

Takes symptoms inputted by user to help suggest common campus illnesses that the user may have.

How we built it

We utilized the python library ChatterBot to create a chatbot, which we then attempted to train with dialogue lines and information on various sicknesses.

Challenges we ran into

The bot was difficult to train.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to make a bot that is able to talk.

What we learned

We learned a lot about artificial intelligence, something we were not previously familiar with. Additionally, we learned the difficulties of training AI, and learned how to best utilize the resources we have.

What's next for Wellness Bot

Making the bot smarter and capable of carrying a conversation in line with its purpose, and potentially create a user interface. If this is successful, it could be incorporated into our campus health website as a chatbot to more efficiently help college students.
