Inspiration

WellChatbot is inspired by the need to provide Queen’s students with a better understanding of what mental health resources are available for them on campus.

Description

WellChatbot uses Natural Language Processing (NPL) and LDA technology to intake user messages to the chatbot and decipher the general context of the message. It is then able to determine which case the message falls under stress, depression, homesickness and anxiety and send them a response to guide them through their next steps.

Next Steps

The next steps for WellChatbot are to integrate all of the moving parts in order for the chatbot to become functional and useful for Queen’s students. Once the prototype for the four cases is working, it will be expanded to account for more of the situations students may need help with like issues with residence, exams and relationships.
