Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project was to find a solution to the mental health epidemic that plagues the United States. Through our research, we found that the best way to do that was just by simple activities such as exercising and breathing, so we decided to create an app that permeates access to both of those.

What it does

Our app has two functions. First, it has a breathing section which comes with a guided interface so that users can engage in short breathing periods and improve their respiratory blood flow. Second, we also provide an online clicker which allows you to time any exercise (pushups, crunches, squats, etc.) so that people are more motivated to take actions during the day to improve their physical fitness.

How we built it

We built it using Javascript, CSS, and Html.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges we ran into for this project is figuring out how to utilize an animated background and also, for me personally, getting familiars with the intricacies of web development through html and css.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some of the accomplishments we are proud of is how aesthetically appealing our site was, figuring out to use the animated backgrounds, and also creating an app with multiple functionality to make it all encompassing.

What we learned

I personally learned a great deal about HTML and CSS. It was a bit rough being thrown into a project like this with no prior experience in frontend development but this situation allowed me to challenge myself and further my knowledge of programming. We also learned how to utilize animated backgrounds to create a more aesthetically appealing interface.

What's next for WellBeing

We have three main goals to take this project beyond the hackathon: first, we want to include another section for laughing where we provide dad jokes or funny memes based on the user's interests so that they can laugh more throughout the day. Second, we also want to improve the breathing section to play soothing sounds or relaxing music during the sessions. And finally, we want to improve the exercise section to include custom regiments that the user can take with him to the gym.
