💡 Inspiration

After receiving the tracks, the track: "Patient Literacy and Education" caught my eye. I thought to myself that as a coder I should be able to tackle this problem and took it as a challenge to see if I can produce a perfect solution to this. Throughout the world, many people aren't as privileged as us in terms of medical help, so I thought, what can I make to help people like that? I present to you, WellAware AI.

📖 What it does

An AI-based health education platform for users to learn about anything they wish to related to health using comprehensive courses. The courses have concept checks and youtube videos so users can maximize their learning. Additionally, users can personalize their account resulting in the creation of a recommended daily schedule based on their work and health conditions to make sure they get their work down while also staying healthy. Finally, they get a list of resources based on their own condition.

🔨 How I built it

Using the MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express JS, React JS, Node JS), a sleek library known as MUI, and OpenAI's API, I was able to provide the best experience to the user that they can ask for.

🗿 Challenges I ran into

I was on pace to make many more features for this platform, as I had many ideas and a lot of time. However, since AI is unpredictable there were many bugs at first, which I spent a lot of time fixing my tailoring and manipulating the AI to only be focused on what this platform wants.

🎖️ Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm extremely proud of the end product for this project. This hackathon forced me to go outside of my comfort zone and try a project in a new domain (I've never done anything related to health). I learned a lot regarding AI and now know how to basically "force" the AI to only be useful to my cause.

📃 What we learned

As I said earlier, I learned how to "force" the AI to only be useful for my cause and I also learned time management, as since I was working solo, I had to make sure I was using my time efficiently.

🔜 What's next for WellAware AI

My mind was flourishing with ideas throughout this hackathon and if this was a longer hackathon, I would've added checking symptoms, personalized chatbot, disease/infection detection using camera and images, and a lot more. I will work on this project after the hackathon, because I believe it's a powerful project to put onto my portfolio, once completed.
