Inspiration
In almost every neighborhood, local mosques and community welfare committees rely on handwritten registers to manage monthly donations and utility expenses. Because financial records are locked in physical notebooks, a lack of transparency often breeds mistrust, doubt, and petty arguments among residents regarding where funds actually go. We wanted to build a simple, foolproof digital bridge that brings complete accountability and trust to grassroots community management without demanding advanced technical skills from everyday users.
What it does
My platform is designed specifically for community mosques and welfare committees. It features:
- Frictionless Admin Panel: A secure, pin-protected interface for committee members to quickly log cash or digital donations and expense entries.
How we built it
- Frontend: Built using clean, responsive HTML5 and CSS3 to ensure blazing-fast loading speeds and high readability across both mobile phones and desktop displays.
- Logic & Interactivity: Powered by lightweight JavaScript and PHP to handle tabs management, real-time filtering, and dynamic calculations.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing Simplicity with Functionality: Keeping the admin dashboard ultra-simple so that older or less tech-savvy committee members could use it easily, while still making it robust enough to handle data securely.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating a solution tailored directly to a real-world, grassroots problem faced in everyday local communities.
- Designing a user experience that requires zero training for elderly or traditional committee members to understand at a glance.
- Successfully building a complete, high-impact web tool from scratch within a short hackathon window.
What we learned
- That the most impactful software doesn't always have to be complex or heavily algorithmic; sometimes, solving a simple organizational friction point creates the highest real-world value.
- The importance of keeping UI/UX clean and accessible when designing for non-technical users in localized environments.
What's next for Welfare Donation Management System
- Email / SMS: Adding automated updates so community members receive instant text notifications when a new donor or event is published.
- Event Managmenet: Integrating Events of the religon to get one more category donation.
