Inspiration

Welcome To The Gym Bro is an emotional comeback anthem about reclaiming strength - physically mentally and emotionally - after betrayal. It was inspired in part due to the memes which accompanied the heartbreak of a man with the words such as "the gym is waiting for you." Technically, I was inspired by the new AI image and video tools which suddenly became more easily accessible to the content creators like myself. Platforms like Nano Banana and KlingAI giving unlimited generations allowed me for the first time to really consider a full music video using AI.

What it does

It speaks to men rebuilding their identity through discipline and self-respect. The project combines music and AI technology blending real world visuals with 1980s stylised imagery.

How we built it

I used a number of AI image tools such as Nano Banana and SeedDream to create the stylised image. Then using AI video like KlingAI, Wan, Veo - I created each video segment from the AI images created. I used Premier Pro to blend, edit and arrange the video to the music.

Challenges we ran into

The AI tools were being released almost weekly, so learning which tool was the best for each image or video generation was a challenge. The hardest part was keeping the consistency of characters or their environment. It wasn't as easy as people said combining two images and trying to maintain the consistency of light and environment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I see lots of AI generated videos. Some very realistic and some more surreal. However, there aren't many full length music videos created solely in AI which appear down to earth and continually consistent throughout. It's also a story, bringing emotions and humour to life. I like to think I gave AI the soul. Also, it's a very catchy song, and I needed a video to do it justice.

What we learned

New AI tools seem to be coming out every week. Veo 3.1 just launched after Sora2 just came out. I have done several other music videos now using these tools but different genres. However, for the first time I can really see the path to making a movie to accompany the two book I have written.

What's next for Welcome To The Gym Bro

Marketing and reaching out to find an audience who will appreciate it. I have made promo videos for the song. As I eluded to above, I have created more videos and my eyes are on a full length movie.
