In this article we present a novel idea of using sensors installed inside a vehicle to aid in the estimation of its weight as it travels past a roadside unit and then the reporting the information to a centralized Data Center. First, we discuss the importance of this issue and our motivation to examine solutions. System details follow in the next section.
