WeFarm Connect

Inspiration

I was inspired by the struggles and challenges faced by women striving to make a living

What it does

It's designed to empower women homestead gardeners by tackling their most pressing challenges: water scarcity, limited information, poor market access and financial inclusion.

How we built it

I built it using a 2G RAM android phone in the absence of more advanced gadgets like laptops and tablets. I used firebase studio comprising of; AI (Gemini) to understand and generate various forms of input and (Genkit) to provide a unified API to access AI models. UI consists of; TypeScript-Programming language that adds type safety to JavaScript NextJs-Popular web framework built in React Tailwind CSS-Popular CSS framework that lets you style components inline with your HTML

Challenges we ran into

-Financial challenges rendering inability to fully support the project -Lack of support from friends, family and the people around

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Even though I had no previous knowledge on coding and programming, I was able to build simple mobile apps

What we learned

I learned that even in the face adversity, never give up on your dreams. Patience and perseverance is key to success.

WeFarm app to be brought to life, fully functional and launched for the target users.
