Inspiration
We were inspired by our boredom in quarantine. By making this website, we have made it so that users who may be feeling restless during quarantine can get an anime recommendation based on their vibes, which will help them find entertainment during these trying times.
What it does
Our website contains a vibefinder which gives users a recommended anime based on certain summer elements, like food and summer activities.
How we built it
We built it using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
We had difficulty with some of the positioning and styling at first, but after some tweaking, it now looks good. Also, the slideshow was hard to code. This was also Anna’s first hackathon, so getting used to how everything worked (as well as waking up earlier) was difficult at first, but in the end, it was fun.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of completing the quiz to give people summer 2020 anime recommendations. We’re also proud of being able to incorporate the featured slideshow and the popular anime gallery.
What we learned
We learned how to code a quiz using Javascript as well as incorporating color theory to make our website more summer themed.
What's next for Weebsite
We would like to incorporate a feature where when people hover over the featured anime icon, it has a popup with an additional description. Additionally, we would like to create a feature where users can submit their own quizzes so we can consider the wide varieties of genres in anime.
