WedFlow - Better Wedding Planning

🌟 Inspiration

Weddings are meant to be joyful—but planning them can be overwhelming, especially for couples navigating the chaos alone. We were inspired by the concept of agile sprint planning and thought: What if couples could plan their weddings like a product manager—with a team, clear milestones, and a shared vision? That’s where WedFlow was born.

We wanted to bring the power of AI and design to help couples delegate, stay on track, and actually enjoy the journey to their big day.

💍 What it does

WedFlow is an AI-powered mobile wedding planner that lets couples plan collaboratively with their "herd"—friends, family, and vendors who help make the big day happen. Couples break their wedding journey into Mini Milestones (like venue visits or dress fittings) and assign tasks to their herd. The app keeps everyone in sync with:

• 🛎️ Auto-generated task reminders and nudges
  
• 💬 Group chat per Milestone
  
• 🎉 A celebratory dashboard with progress tracking
  

It’s like a Trello board, group chat, and countdown calendar had a wedding-themed baby.

🛠️ How we built it

We built WedFlow using Bolt.new to rapidly prototype our mobile app UX, component logic, and screen flows. We:

• Started with a core planning app structure: onboarding → dashboard → Milestones → task tracking
  
• Layered in real-time updates, interactive checklists, chat, and a herd management system
  
• Used the onboarding flow data (wedding date, couple names) to autofill all tabs
  
• Built out dynamic nudging logic based on due dates
  
• Added calendar pickers and interactive fields for a smooth, celebratory feel

⚠️ Challenges we ran into

• Data persistence and logic linking: Ensuring tasks, milestones, and herd members were dynamically connected and persisted across the experience
  
• Interaction design in Bolt.new: Moving beyond static screens to real, interactive behavior took deep prompting and iteration
  
• UX flow balancing: Designing a tool powerful enough to help with real planning, but simple enough to feel calm and celebratory

• A unique language and metaphor (“herd”) that brought delight and clarity to the user experience

📚 What we learned

• How to deeply customize Bolt.new beyond demo mode using prompt chaining
  
• That clear metaphors (like the herd!) make new concepts intuitive
  
• That interactivity, feedback, and warmth are key to making planning apps feel personal—not stressful
  
• How powerful thoughtful prompting can be when building with AI tools

🔮 What’s next for WedFlow – Better Wedding Planning

We're planning to expand WedFlow with:

• 📱 React Native port for full mobile deployment

• 🧾 Budgeting and vendor tracking integration
  
• 🔔 Smart “Herd Pulse” system to detect bottlenecks and proactively support the couple
