Your city after relaxing the social distancing laws for COVID-19:
Many people will get back to work and have to commute daily.
Most of those people have to take the public transport and get in contact with so many others.
Others will go back to the previous way of transportation – by car. They usually have 3 empty seats in their cars. Twice a day, 5 days a week.
They also have some colleagues that lives close to their neighborhood that can ride with them to work instead of taking the public transport.
The problem:
Too many interactions in the public transport system. Not safe.
Therefore we think that responsible companies can encourage their employees to share their cars with others and limit the number of interactions one employee could have on their daily commute.
That is how wecommute app come into landscape.
The solution:
By using the app, employees that shares the same route to work can find each other, get in contact and commute together. HR department will know who participated in the shared commute and reward the efforts in limiting the interactions and the spread of the virus.
Big win for busy office buildings!
After the COVID-19 virus will be stopped, people can commute together for the next big reason: saving the planet!
What it does / our pitch
For people that work in busy cities and has to commute daily to office,
Who aren’t satisfied the number of contacts they had in public transport
Our proposition help them to group in cars on the way to work and back with their colleagues or other drivers that have similar routes to their offices, reducing the number of interactions per individual.
Unlike ordering an Uber and get a different driver each time
We find you a near driver that has already going on same route with you and if you both match the schedule, you can commute together each day at a fraction of the costs.
It’s better because it enables people to limit the possibility to get the virus, have an impact in reducing carbon footprint, save money on commute and be able to work while traveling.
our progress so far
• we are two founders: florin and Liviu. I am in charge of the product side and Liviu manages the development efforts. • on the product side: we defined our vision, customer personas, we have a business model, revenue estimations, lean canvas and more. • on the tech side, we have ~ 40% of our prototype already codded

• the plan is to finish the prototype and test it with a few companies. We have two companies already that are enrolled.
• we need a strong business development plan after the proof on concept succeeds.
• a strong marketing strategy • a backlog full of valuable features for our first commercial version. • an plan to get an investment • and mentors.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We did a survey that went viral on linkedin and gathered 1200 responses and that was before COVID.

What's next for wecommute
Finish the submission by creating a video for this hack.
Finish the Proof of concept and launch it in a few companies that showed interests on using such an app.
