In many Eastern African countries, there is a significant lack of accessible and reliable medical records, especially during emergency situations. This often results in delayed care, misdiagnosis, or potential treatment errors due to the absence of critical health information such as past illnesses, ongoing treatments, or allergies. This challenge affects citizens’ access to prompt and accurate medical attention, complicating emergency responses and overall healthcare delivery.

Our solution introduces a transformative Digital ID system designed to enhance healthcare accessibility and efficiency across Eastern Africa by integrating comprehensive personal health records (PHR) with individual Digital IDs. This secure platform ensures that healthcare providers have immediate access to a patient’s complete medical profile in routine checks and emergency situations, enhancing treatment accuracy and saving lives. Upon registration, each citizen’s Digital ID is securely linked to their PHR, which encapsulates extensive personal and medical information. This includes basic identification like full name, date of birth, gender, national ID number, and contact details, ensuring that healthcare professionals can quickly verify a patient’s identity. The PHR will also store critical medical history such as past diagnoses, treatments, surgeries, and family health history, providing a holistic view of a patient’s health background.
