Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project was to combine both mental and physical health in a way that saves time and maximizes efficiency for all parties. Sometimes taking medicine, especially when taking more than one type at a time, can get confusing. This machine simplifies it for the user and can dispense exactly what they need and when they need it.
What it does
WeCare automatically dispenses the user's prescribed medicine at the specific time every day they need to take it. The user is offered a choice between happy or sad, then is taken to the chatbot screen where they can log how they feel for the day, including both physically and mentally, or request to contact the doctor for urgent advice. The doctor will respond as soon as they get the chance, and their suggestions will be displayed on the screen for the user whenever they check back after.
How we built it
We started by planning the model and started the website to go along with it, then added some code for the chatbot as well as creating a dataset for the model to be trained on.
Challenges we ran into
We had to adjust our ideas after running into blocks while brainstorming and restarted many times.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Much of the progress that was made during this hackathon was newly gained knowledge. With the limited time given and broad topic, we managed to create something feasible and one of that which could be widely used in the future.
What we learned
We learned how to model using SketchUp, many of the details that go into designing a website, and some machine learning fundamentals that came from a simple model.
What's next for WeCare
Our next steps would be to physically design the machine based off of our 3D model, as well as implement the chatbot directly so that it can run by itself in WeCare.
