Inspiration

Our team consists of three people from various regions and just getting to know each other, we all came together with one problem: “prosperity of writers” We realize every time there are many new writers appearing every year but they are difficult to be able to publish book publishers, so many novice writers are still confused about showing off or exhibiting magic independently. Therefore our main goal is to help writers market their work independently, quickly and efficiently thereby helping to increase revenue, growth and empowerment of the creative industry especially for writers. By participating in GarudaHacks 2.0 we aim to solve common problems efficiently with an online approach through “WEBVEL” (Web Novel).

What it does

WEBVEL aims to solve all problems related to authorship. Users can upload their work to our website, then after confirmation the user will immediately manage his written work independently, such as sharing applications with readers. We also give authors the freedom to price their own work. It also makes it easier for readers to access the author's work, thus creating a good community for writers to market their work.

How we built it

Since we all had no prior experience, we were hesitant to jump into the complicated stuff at first when we started developing this idea. We learned a lot about programming. Overall, this project allows us to help young writers who are still confused or insecure about the results of the book to be commercialized, and finally we found a method that helps us advance screenwriters with a technology approach.

What's next for Webvel Indonesia

Apart from the GarudaHacks submission, we aim to advance WEBVEL in the future by adding more features that will positively increase the trust of writers and readers in a work, so as to increase the interest in reading and writing of the younger generation. In the future, we will provide a TTS (Text-To-Speech) feature for readers who are really lazy to read books. We hope that WEBVEL will one day be able to connect with users globally as our team needs, through a website and mobile app that will be available in the future to unlimited users.
