Inspiration
The small tasks we encounter daily—translating words, performing repetitive actions, or navigating forms—often take more time than they should. These seemingly simple tasks became a recurring source of frustration for me, and I realized there had to be a better way. This inspired me to create Webudy AI Assistant, a Chrome extension designed to tackle the everyday challenges we face online with speed and efficiency.
What it does
The extension enables quick actions on selected text and features an AI assistant that answers questions about the page, streamlines the process of filling out Amazon KDP forms for books, and assists with shopping or cooking. Simply tell the extension what you want to shop for, and it will curate and add the necessary items to your Amazon cart, making everyday tasks effortless.
How we built it
Webudy was developed using Google’s Built In AI, such as Prompt API, Translate API, and Write API, alongside Chrome extension APIs. This integration allowed us to create a solution that’s both powerful and user-friendly.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was integrating the extension with the Amazon Shopping API to perform tasks seamlessly in the background instead of within the browser. This required overcoming technical limitations, managing API constraints, and resolving unexpected errors. Despite these hurdles, the process drove us to innovate and refine the extension, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive user experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The shopping assistant and automated form-filling features stand out as major achievements. These capabilities simplify complex tasks, making them accessible to everyone. While there’s always room for growth, I’m proud of how much Webudy has already achieved in enhancing productivity and ease of use.
