Inspiration
Every site migration involves the same five checks. We wanted each one to be a single page you can bookmark.
What it does
WebToolBench is a free collection of small, focused web tools for people who run websites. You can check a domain's DNS records and WHOIS data, see when an SSL certificate expires and which hostnames it covers, inspect HTTP response headers, and follow a URL through every redirect hop. On the SEO side it has an on-page SEO checker, a meta tag generator, a robots.txt tester and generator, and a SERP snippet preview. Developers get a JSON formatter, Base64/URL encoder, hash, UUID and password generators, plus .htaccess and .htpasswd generators. Each tool runs in the browser with no download. It's meant for quick checks during a migration, a launch or a debugging session, when you need an answer in seconds instead of opening a terminal.
How we built it
Server-side lookups for DNS, WHOIS, TLS and HTTP, with client-side tools (JSON, Base64, hashes) for anything that doesn't need a network call.
What's next
More email and hosting diagnostics.
