Inspiration
I love synths, and I love subgraphs. I wanted to combine these two worlds.
What it does
A webapp that connects to a midi interface and different notes for different events and their values, assigned abritrarily, or by the user.
How we built it
With WebMIDI, React, a Subgraph with Websockets and a Modular Synth. We want to include ToneJS to play music without a synth. (This is planned build. we still need to connect the subgraph element)
Challenges we ran into
Time, I was doing presentations, and could not finish. I would like to finish it later today, as Websockets with subgraphs was a big challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to put in time for the hack, and also getting it connecting to the interface and playing initial sounds.
What we learned
A lot about webmidi and interfacing with hardware, as well as using websockets a bit better.
What's next for Web3Sounds
We are going to link it to a subgraph, and allow users to listen to snippets of events that have happened, like dao hack etc. And allow them to request for certain events, which will be on a library. Allow users to set the values of the events and what sounds they make.
Built With
- subgraph
- typescript
- webmidi
