Inspiration:
This Project was initially planned for AICTE Activity Point Programme which was later later disregarded back then. So, this time we wanted to try something new so we decided to work on this topic
What it does:
This is actually a website for NGO that displays the description of the NGO, Past and Current events that are organized by the organization, and Lets the user Volunteer/Apply for the future events. This website also provides separate features for admin and other users, where admin can see how the NGO is running in the Dashboard, while users are also allowed to make donations for the NGO. All the data that are entered in this page are then stored into a database.
How we built it:
We created the webpages using HTML, CSS & JS also made help out of existing government webpages, and made the design of the website using a pencil drawing first. We then got lot of templates since we didn't know HTML programming and we are new to Hackathon. We thought coding form templates was also an efficient way of learning a little bit about the language. So we took some from the internet and made use of them by making the desired as per our convenience. Then. after we finish the design of website, we then linked the website to a database using PHP and MySQL.
Challenges we ran into:
We thought of making the dashboard dynamic, but couldn't apply it properly. We also thought of making a separate database for the admin to manage the posts that posted in the website using Firebase, but it wasn't efficient enough.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Us being beginners in Coding and managed to create a small website that partially works, Learnt a lot in such a short amount of time this being our First Hackathon
What's next for Website for NGO:
We all learnt how HTML, CSS and MySQL works (Basics), we also learnt how to work for an Hackathon utilizing the time that has been given to us.
What's next for Website for NGO:
We planned to make the page more professional for use in future, and also include a lot of conditions to make the page safe, secure and easy to use.
