Inspiration
We wanted to incorporate the theme of DurHack 2023 into the THG e-marketing challenge. We hoped to interest potential buyers by producing an interactive website that illustrates the theme of our products. This is in contrast to many other online stores, which may offer limited information about the themes of the items they sell.
What it does
The website we produced visualises different expressions of infinity to teach viewers about its important concepts in an accessible way. It also contains a semi-functional merch shop with a "infinite random color generator"
How we built it
GitHub was used to share our progress throughout our team, which was split into 2 groups: one which managed the production of the main page, and one which produced our website's shop. This allowed us to be more independent with our coding. We used multiple online resources to assist the production of our website as the framework we used was relatively new to us.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered code priority issues and code clashing due to multiple stylesheets linked to a single HTML file. JavaScript also presented its own problems due to issues associated with local variable storage.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to decompose the production of our website into multiple manageable sections, allowing us to progress further along in our project than we had anticipated.
What we learned
The production of our website allowed us to exercise our skills in full stack web development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
What's next for Website about Infinity
Multiple new features may be implemented into our website shop, such as individual product viewing, payment methods, and a more polished UI.
