Inspiration
WebMCP was recently launched, and we launched the first chrome extension approved by OpenAI to sell GPT-3 for automation in 2021.
What it does
Adds WebMCP support to any website by listening and creating tools from a chrome extension.
How we built it
Using a chrome extension that analyzes network traffic to construct tools from the chrome extension to replicate that action.
Challenges we ran into
MV3 prevents dynamic code, so we had to create a system that works.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
World's first WebMCP for any website, and expands the use of WebMCP without vendor work instantly.
What we learned
Most sites use encryption that prevents all actions from being converting without vendor actions.
What's next for WebMCP Super Chrome Extension
Make it easy for vendors to add support for more actions when users generate tools for their site, and give them permissions over what tools are allowed.
