Inspiration

As a creator frustrated with bloated enterprise webinar tools, I wanted something focused on what matters: ease of use and conversions. I saw peers wasting hours on complex setups instead of connecting with their audience—so I built a solution that strips away the noise, keeping core features (automation, tracking, engagement) and adding stunning, performant design that feels modern without sacrificing speed.

What it does

WebinarPlatform Lite lets creators/coaches host webinars with zero technical hurdles: build a webinar in 2 clicks, automate attendee communication, track conversions from registration to purchase, and deliver seamless live/replay experiences—all for $29/month, supporting 500 concurrent attendees. The platform’s intuitive dashboard visualizes performance, while the attendee experience is smooth, login-free, and engaging (Q&A, polls, reactions).

How we built it

I started with core user flows: webinar creation, registration, live hosting, replay delivery. For frontend, I used React + Tailwind CSS, with GSAP for GPU-accelerated animations (parallax, glassmorphism, 3D effects) that stay 60fps. Backend: Node.js/Express to handle webinar logic, MongoDB for data storage, and AWS for video hosting. I integrated SendGrid for automated emails, Chart.js for real-time analytics, and timezone APIs to auto-adjust scheduling for global audiences. Every design choice prioritized performance—intersection observers for scroll animations, reduced motion support for accessibility.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest hurdle was balancing visual flair with performance: complex animations (gradient shifts, particle effects) risked lag on lower-end devices. I solved this with GPU acceleration, strategic will-change properties, and intersection observers to only load animations when elements enter the viewport. Another challenge: timezone handling—ensuring webinar times display correctly for hosts/attendees across regions required testing 10+ timezone scenarios and auto-detection logic.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a platform that’s both beautiful and functional: 60fps animations across all devices, a 2-click webinar creation flow, and conversion tracking that actually helps creators act on data. Most importantly, it’s accessible—supporting reduced motion preferences and responsive design for mobile/desktop. The automated email system has cut creators’ admin time by 80%, and the login-free attendee experience boosts registration rates by removing friction.

What we learned

I learned that "simple" doesn’t mean "basic"—users crave polish and delight, even in tools focused on utility. Performance optimization is non-negotiable for animations: cutting unnecessary effects and leveraging browser APIs (like requestAnimationFrame) makes all the difference. I also realized how critical timezone and accessibility features are for global creators—details that enterprise tools often overlook but make or break the user experience.

What's next for this project

Next, we’ll add basic co-host functionality (a top request from users) and expand integration options (more CRM/email tools). We’re also testing lightweight screen-sharing to fill a key gap, while keeping the platform fast and simple. Long-term, we’ll add basic replay editing tools—still staying true to our "lite" mission, no bloat included.
