Inspiration
Halloween is a period of enjoying the spooks and thrills. I decided to create this website for a closer eery companion. With each click Be careful, You awaken the Halloween spirits.
What it does
It is a website that combines three aspects of our daily lives, a timer that once the time elapses, a specific horror sound is produced, eerie sounds where there is a simple rather neat collection of spooky sounds that mark the halloween spirit and a spooky chatbot that is still learning but is not really nice, kinda creepy! Additionally, it helps find a website where we can buy halloween costumes!
How we built it
I used html css and javascript dude to the limited time frame. I utilised bootstrap icons in a few areas and considered using OpenAI API.
Challenges we ran into
The structure was quite complicated but I managed to create it. The matching of halloween colours and visibility of the texts was hard to do but with experimentation and test and error methods, I sorted that out. The use of javascript for such complicated tasks required a lot of debugging and since it was in large amounts in the code, it was really hard.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am happy I finished it in time for this hackathon and brought the halloween spirit back to life.
What we learned
I learned to be resilient and be patient with a lot of time management required to finish this and my school work in the limited time.
What's next for WEB_HALLOWEEN
I will use more advanced frameworks like React and Next.js for easier development. I will also include AI for automation and for a more enhanced chatbot.
