Inspiration
Every developer spent tens of hours finding relevant opportunities for hackathons, grants, internships, and more, then one has to track timelines manually or by adding them to Google Calendar.
What it does
A community-based opportunities board to add/update opportunities and earn rewards based on the contribution. Whenever sponsored opportunities are added to the board the fund will be distributed among the community members. Users can track opportunities in click on the platform of their choice Discord, Google Calendar, Mail, etc.
How we built it
Built the minimalist UI with ReactJS, used Firebase for authentication, and cloud storage, using NextJS to make calls to third-party APIs such as Discord, Calendar, AdminSDK, and more. Integrating NEAR to distribute funds based on contribution.
Challenges we ran into
Discord docs have many libraries linked to the official documentation leading to a lot of confusion at one time, then used the plain REST API without any wrappers on NextJS to make calls.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completed the MVP with Discord, Calendar, Profile, and NEAR distribution.
What we learned
Don't spend too much time on perfection and catering to edge cases in hackathons, brainstorm and plan an MVP then build it as soon as possible.
