Inspiration

I was inspired by Linktree, a platform where users can create a portfolio of links to their online presence. However, I wanted to take this a step further and create a platform where users can own their Linktree as an asset. This led to the idea of Web3 Linktree.

What it does

Web3 Linktree functions similar to a regular Linktree, but with additional features enabled by Web3 technology. Users can create a portfolio of links to their social media profiles, blogs, and other online content. They can also showcase their NFT collection to their audience. Additionally, users can receive crypto payments directly through their Web3 Linktree using MetaMask or other wallets.

How we built it

We built Web3 Linktree using Next.js for the front-end and Spheron for cloud storage. Shardeum was used as the blockchain network and Polybase for the decentralized database.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, I faced issues with how to create a Linktree, and designing the frontend was also challenging. Another significant challenge was figuring out how to save data on-chain, as it can be expensive. However, this was overcome with the help of Polybase.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that we were able to build a functional platform that leverages Web3 technology. We were able to incorporate blockchain and decentralized database features, making Web3 Linktree a unique offering in the market.

What we learned

Through the development of Web3 Linktree, we learned more about Web3 technology, blockchain networks, and decentralized databases. We also gained valuable experience in building a platform from scratch.

What's next for Web3 Linktree

Moving forward, our team plans to continue improving and adding features to Web3 Linktree. We will focus on enhancing the user experience by integrating more blockchain networks, expanding our token holdings feature, and improving our payment system to support more cryptocurrencies. We aim to make Web3 Linktree the go-to platform for users looking to own their Linktree as an asset and showcase their online presence in a unique and valuable way.
