About the Project

Web2Question AI is a browser extension designed to help students, educators, and content creators generate quiz-style questions from the content of any webpage. Inspired by the need for a fast, efficient way to turn online articles and texts into study materials, I aimed to build a tool that automates this process using AI. The extension extracts text from any webpage and generates relevant short and long questions, streamlining the study process.

What Inspired Me

I wanted to create something that could save time for people who need to generate study materials quickly, especially students who are preparing for exams or educators creating quizzes. The idea of using AI to simplify this task seemed like a perfect way to make studying more efficient and less time-consuming.

Challenges I Faced

In my excitement to build the extension, I missed reading the full hackathon rules and mistakenly used the Gemini API instead of the required Gemini Nano API. By the time I realized the mistake, it was too late to switch. Despite this, I decided to submit the project as it was because I felt that the core idea was solid and could still be valuable.

What I Learned

This experience taught me the importance of reading instructions carefully and paying attention to all details, even in high-pressure situations. However, I'm proud of what I've achieved with the Gemini API, and once the hackathon ends, I plan to integrate Gemini Nano to further enhance the functionality of this tool.

Moving Forward

While I may not have fully leveraged the required API in this project, I believe the concept is strong. After the hackathon, I plan to update the extension by incorporating the Gemini Nano API to create a more robust and functional version. I’m excited to continue working on it and improving it further.
