Inspiration

The inspiration behind Transly was to create a user-friendly platform that simplifies the transcription process for audio and video files. I aimed to develop a tool that harnesses the power of open-source ASR models like OpenAI's Whisper, providing users with a seamless experience in generating accurate transcripts.

What it does

Transly allows users to effortlessly transcribe audio and video files. Powered by OpenAI's Whisper ASR model, users can upload files, select their preferred language and model, and receive accurate transcripts. The platform supports multiple languages and models, offering flexibility and precision in transcription.

How I built it

I built Transly using a combination of HTML, Bootstrap, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and Flask. The frontend is designed with a user-friendly interface, while the backend leverages the capabilities of the Whisper ASR model for accurate transcription. The integration is achieved through a Flask web application, ensuring a smooth and efficient transcription process.

Challenges I ran into

During development, I encountered challenges related to handling different file formats, optimizing the user interface, and ensuring the smooth integration of the Whisper ASR model. Overcoming these challenges required collaborative problem-solving and innovative approaches to enhance the overall functionality of the platform.
