Inspiration

What it does

It spreads awareness of carbon emissions by turning it into a game. Spending time on high-emission websites depletes energy, while spending time on low-emission websites increases energy. Energy is used to gain exp. Playing the game will help the player remember which websites are low and high emission and give them incentive to use low-emission websites.

How we built it

We used a carbon emission API and html/CSS/js

Challenges we ran into

We couldn't get a free public API that has the database we wanted, so we had to settle with making our own local database with json files

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The extension looks pretty nice and we came up with a solid idea

What we learned

We learned how to use APIs and make google extensions

What's next for Web Quest

We might update it by making the game part more fun, thereby making energy more important and time spent
