Implemented an online flight reservation application to reserve and buy online travel tickets. The customers are allowed to sign-up and create their own accounts and upon signing in, they get the feasibility to purchase and even view their history of transactions. Some of the additional functionalities that were implemented are SSL Encryption, Play Cache API, Compression using GZIP, Load Balancing with Apache Server as Master and multiple Tomcat servers as slaves, ORM Framework using EBean, Single Sign-On using Twitter, Database Sharding, AJAX support and the project was hosted on the school’s server.
