About the Project

Inspiration

The project was inspired by the growing demand for personalized products and the need for better product identification and management. Customized T-shirts often include unique designs, names, and logos, but managing their identity and related information can be challenging. We wanted to combine personalization with digital product identification to create a more organized and user-friendly experience.

What We Built

The Web-Based Personalized T-Shirt Identity and Label Management System is a web application designed to let customers customize T-shirts by selecting colors, sizes, adding text, and uploading images or logos. The system aims to generate a personalized product label with a unique Product ID and QR code for product verification.

The application is designed around three main user roles:

  • Customer: Browse products, customize T-shirts, and manage orders.
  • Admin: Manage products, users, orders, labels, and product identities.
  • Manufacturer: View assigned orders, access design details, and update production status.

How We Built It

We planned the project by studying existing product customization platforms, identifying their limitations, and defining the system requirements. We used Antigravity to assist with development and Stitch AI for UI/UX design. The proposed technology stack includes React.js for the frontend, Node.js and Express.js for the backend, and MySQL for database management.

We organized the development into phases, including project planning, database design, frontend development, backend integration, product identity management, and testing.

Challenges We Faced

One of the main challenges was planning how to connect T-shirt customization details with orders, personalized labels, and unique Product IDs. Designing a clear workflow for Customer, Admin, and Manufacturer roles was another important challenge. We also focused on maintaining consistency between the frontend, backend, and database while keeping the interface simple and responsive.

What We Learned

Through this project, we gained experience in project planning, UI/UX design, full-stack development concepts, database design, API integration, and software testing. We also learned how AI-assisted development tools can support the development process when used with proper planning and verification.

Future Scope

Future improvements include real-time T-shirt previews, enhanced label generation, secure QR-based verification, improved order tracking, and deployment of the complete application.

Our goal is to make personalized T-shirt creation more convenient while providing each customized product with a unique digital identity.
