Inspiration

Voice assistants in mobile and pc.

What it does

It controls the browser using voice commands. Can control web pages for opening links and scrolling. Supports custom commands for sites such as google, amazon, and youtube

How I built it

It was built using WebExtensions API. Tested on firefox and chrome.

Challenges I ran into

Recording audio and sent to wit.ai. Wit.ai doesn't support the audio recorded with firefox and chrome. So I had to find different solutions.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Recorded audio in wav format.

What I learned

Got some more experience in wit.ai and WebExtensiona API. Learned to deal with a microphone in browser

What's next for Web Assistant

Now it will only accept the command and do accordingly. Next update it to interactively communicate with the user. Have to add some more popular sites for custom commands.
