Inspiration

My friend and shellhacks partner both took a Human Computer Interaction course here at FIU. In the course we learned how to quickly create web apps using Streamlit.

What inspired the twist is the dinosaur game that Google Chrome lets you play when the internet is down. I am very passionate about game design and so I thought it would be fun idea to include a link to game inside of our web app.

What it does

The web app uses the OpenWeatherMap API to retrieve weather data from a city the user chooses. There's also a link at the bottom of the page that opens a new window on the users computer running my game, Earth Defenders. Earth Defenders was inspired by classic games like Galaga, Contra, and Asteroids. The main menu art (beautifully crafted by me) is inspired by Starship Troopers and Helldivers (which itself is inspired by Starship Troopers).
