Inspiration

I was inspired to make a convenient weather tool that was aesthetically pleasing, quick, and easy to use. The application requires no scrolling and is minimalistic.

What it does

The Weather Tool can find the weather and other details about any city or large area inputted. The tool can also find the weather of the used device's location.

How we built it

I built it using HTML and CSS for the frontend programming and JavaScript for the backend programming. I use a climate API for all the temperature readings and data. The API was integrated through the JavaScript code.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was fetching the data properly from the climate API. Then after that, displaying the data was challenging. Both of these things required the most debugging. Timing also became an issue as I initially wanted to incorporate more features into the tool.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the user interface of the Weather Tool. Previously, I had little frontend programming experience, so I was learning as I coded. I am proud that I was able to learn new aspects of some new languages.

What we learned

I learned new things in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Additionally, I learned how I should approach technology projects when time is short. This project taught me how to code effectively with time pressure.

What's next for Weather Tool

What's next Weather Tool for is more features. The tool will have more visual aids and an improved UI/UX. I plan to incorporate the application to my laptop in a seamless manner.
