Weather Snake

Inspiration

We wanted to revive an age-old video game by personalizing it to your weather conditions

What it does

A game that takes in your zipcode and puts location info into the weather API and returns your current temperature. From the weather info, the Snake game is launched and the background adapts to your weather.

How we built it

We built the game using pygame and used the Openweathermap API to get our weather data.

Challenges we ran into'

We had some difficulty integrating the API data into the Snake Game. We went through multiple iterations of the game and tried multiple packages to create our game.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the game that we made since it had many bugs initially.

We learned how to harness weather data and make a running game

What's next for Weather Snake

We hope to launch Weather Snake on the browser next. We plan to add cool animations like snow and clouds to enhance the experience of the game.
