Inspiration
I needed a simpler weather app. While I acknowledge that sometimes you need to check at what time of the day will start raining, for most days of the year, you just need to know whether it's colder or warmer than yesterday, and what to wear.
What it does
One thing and one thing only, it tells you if today will be warmer or colder than yesterday, with an AI twist :). Snap a picture of your outfit, choose a style (Ghibli, Pixar, Retro), get your AI character showcasing matching outfit next time you have similar weather conditions.
How we built it
Swift + UIKit (sorry, I used to work for Apple and I do what I know, which is NOT Swift UI). ChatGPT integration for image generation. + Cursor so help speed up dev time.
Challenges we ran into
Removing background from pictures. Even if you ask, ChatGPT APIs sometimes gives you picture with some light background OR even worse, with the typical jpeg chess background. Had to work around that using Apple Vision framework.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Might be a little stupid, but probably this is by far the simplest app I ever built. You know how they say, one view one feature, but then it never ends up being like that. This one is, if you don't count the setting view.
What's next for Weather Me
Scale scale scale. This is the first app I built is not for a niche, so I am interested in trying some influencer marketing / TikTok.
