Weather Info and Warnings

Inspiration

To help users get complete information of weather for their location as well as other cities they choose to search for. We wanted the users to be alerted about extreme weather like heavy rainfall, floods etc. beforehand.

What it does

Shows current weather information, air quality, nearby weather stations. User can search by city.

How we built it

Used React.js for frontend and Django Rest Framework for backend. We made components in react for different pages and used Tailwind CSS to style the pages.

Challenges we ran into

Random errors and deployment errors while trying to deploy the django backend on Heroku.

More improvements and sophisticated system of emails, SMS and notifications to warn users of extreme weather conditions predicted for their location.
