What it does
Weather Gadget displays current and forecast weather for given location. It presents data in Jira dashboard as gadget, which can be configured to country/city which weather and forecast will be displayed. User also have an option to choose between metric and imperial units.
How we built it
It was built using Forge API with uasge of UI Kit for UI. For weather data OpenWeather API was used.
What you learned from using the Forge platform?
With this app I've learned how Jira Gadgets works with UI Kit, and how easily data from configuration can be stored in gadget context and then retrieved in view/configuration actions. Also it was great way to check new features of UI Kit, especially styling components.
What are you most excited about building with Forge moving forward?
New features and components of UI Kit and how it is helpful to quickly let's you prototype good looking app that seamlessly integrates with Jira UI.
