Jira Weather Gadget App

A lightweight, real-time weather tracker for Jira - built with Atlassian Forge.

This app brings live weather updates directly into Jira, helping teams plan around conditions that might impact work (like remote days or shipping delays). Built for the Forge Quest: Bonus Level hackathon, it’s a fully functional Apprentice-level submission with:

  • Real-time weather data (temperature, conditions, and forecasts) for any location.
  • Seamless Jira integration - no extra logins, just install and go.
  • Simple UI that blends naturally into Jira’s interface.

Why we built it:

We wanted to explore Forge's potential for lightweight, useful tools - no bloat, just quick insights where teams already work. The weather gadget is a small but practical example of how Forge can extend Jira's functionality without complex setups.

Built for this hackathon:

  • Developed entirely during the submission window.
  • Uses open APIs (no licensing conflicts).
  • Includes all required submission materials (screenshot, app ID, and manifest).
