Inspiration
I had made a weather app before, so for this project, I wanted to go out of my comfort zone using a language I had little experience with, Python. I set out to use Python's many features to create this weather App.
What it does
This project allows you to search from a list of cities and then gives you the weather in an hourly breakdown of today's date.
How we built it
It was built using Python, using web scraping data to locate cities' longitude and latitude. From there, it used a publicly available weather API to get a breakdown of the weather today.
Challenges we ran into
I did not fully plan out the project, and along the way, I had to adjust my end goal to ensure its completion.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that despite not fully having a guideline, I took the time to refocus on my work, and this did not deter me from my end goal. Along with that, taking the time to understand the new applications I was working with rather than brute forcing my end goal.
What we learned
I learned that taking the time to understand the new application in relation to my project is of great benefit. Additionally, I reinforced the importance of having a more fleshed-out plan and reviewing the ideas you are working with.
What's next for Weather App
The next step for the weather app would be to make it more visually appealing, as with the focus on working to best implement my ideas, I did not put great emphasis on the look of the application.
