Inspiration

To help the old people who are not able to go to the hospital to consult the doctor. We get an idea to help them. So we have designed a Wearable health monitoring device to them which is more useful to monitor their health.

What it does

In this project we have proposed a system which detects the heartbeat, temperature and flexible rate of fingers and provides a time remainder to take medicines at regular interval of time. This device is designed in a way such that it can be easily wearable and it is easy to carry.

How we built it

An arduino lilypad is used as a microcontroller in this project. A heart beat sensor is used to measure the heartbeat of the person. Thermistor is used to measure the temperature of the patient. A DS3231 RTC module is used to send a remainder to take the medicines at regular interval of time. A flex sensor is used to measure the flexibility of the fingers of the patient. This is useful for the persons undergoing physiotherapy.

Challenges we ran into

We believe that there is one disadvantage to the charging. We are using a microcontroller (arduino lilypad) and want to power it with a battery. So we want to replace the battery all at once.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As we proud that our project works very well and help to most of the old people. The old people can be monitor their health at regular interval of time and according to their health medicines will be provided.

What we learned

As we have learned to work with microcontroller( lilypad arduino) and interfacing sensors with the microcontroller. And also learned embedded programming to program the lilypad arduino.

What's next for Wearable health monitoring device

We intend to expand the project by uploading data from the led placed in the gloves to the cloud, which will be more useful to the doctor in monitoring the patient on a regular basis.
