💡 Inspiration Realizing that 68% of people struggle to manage a monthly budget, we saw an opportunity to build a friendly, AI-powered companion that makes personal finance feel as natural as having a conversation. Our goal was to bridge the gap between complex fintech tools and everyday users who just want clear, actionable insights. Managing personal finances is still too complicated or boring for many people. Traditional apps often lack motivation, guidance, or modern UX. We wanted to create an AI-powered, gamified experience that makes budgeting feel empowering — like building your own financial playbook.

🚀 What it does

WealthyPlayBook is a modern personal finance assistant that helps users: • Track and categorize expenses automatically (including QR invoice scanning) • Receive personalized saving tips via an AI chatbot • Visualize financial goals with real-time progress • Get predictions on future expenses and budget optimization • Earn achievements and points through gamification • Compare progress anonymously with peers • Use voice commands (via ElevenLabs) for hands-free control • Manage settings, security, and premium subscriptions (via RevenueCat) • Use the app on all devices (PWA), with offline support

🛠 How we built it • Frontend: React + TypeScript with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui • Backend: Supabase for auth, database, and storage • Payments: RevenueCat for subscription handling • Deployment: Netlify with CI/CD pipeline • UX: Built as a PWA with responsive fullscreen layout and dark/light mode

🧗 Challenges we ran into • Building a smooth AI-chat interface that feels natural and context-aware • Handling multilingual support and accessibility (WCAG compliance) • Efficiently scanning and parsing receipts/invoices via QR codes • Managing financial data privacy and local vs. cloud storage • Creating a gamified system that’s actually engaging, not just decorative
