We've Got A Plan

Inspiration

We wanted to show investigation as collaboration. The mystery expands beyond what one PI can solve alone, requiring specialists with different skills and perspectives working together.

What it does

This teaser introduces new characters and shows the investigation deepening. A flamingo and pigeon work with high-tech analysis equipment, examining a dormant mechanized bird bot hooked to wires and diagnostic tools. The four investigators, PI Nightsky, the hawk, the flamingo, and the pigeon, gather to discuss their findings. The final shots show them concluding their planning session and departing together, ready to act on what they've discovered.

How we built it

We focused on showing investigative process through visual storytelling. The analysis equipment, the mysterious bot, and the team dynamic all communicate that this case has grown more complex, requiring coordinated effort rather than solo investigative work.

Challenges we ran into

Conveying team dynamics and investigation progress without dialogue. We needed the visuals to communicate specialization (tech experts analyzing evidence), collaboration (group discussion), and resolve (departing together with purpose) through composition and staging alone.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We expanded the PI Nightsky world by introducing new characters and showing investigation as collective problem-solving. The mechanized bot on the table raises questions without answering them, maintaining mystery while showing progress.

What we learned

Investigation scenes can flow visually by showing process and collaboration. Equipment, evidence, and multiple investigators working together communicate seriousness and complexity without needing exposition.
