Inspiration

The inspiration for ZenZone came from the increasing need for simple yet effective mental wellness tools. We noticed that many existing apps are either too complex or too minimal. Our goal was to design something that feels calming, friendly for beginners, and still powerful enough to support daily emotional well-being.

What it does

ZenZone provides:

  • An AI-powered chatbot for supportive conversations
  • Daily affirmation cards to boost positivity
  • A Mood Garden where moods bloom into flowers
  • A Breathing page with calming animations

Together, these features create a personal wellness companion that helps users manage stress, track emotions, and feel more grounded.

How we built it

  1. Designed UI screens using Figma for a soothing experience.
  2. Developed the app in React Native on Kiro’s platform.
  3. Integrated animations like blooming flowers and rain effects.
  4. Added AI-based mood detection to make the app interactive.

Challenges we ran into

  • Getting smooth animations to look natural and calming.
  • Managing app performance while using multiple features.
  • Limited time to integrate all ideas during the hackathon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully creating a working prototype with Kiro Spec.
  • Designing a unique Mood Garden concept that visually reflects emotions.
  • Building everything as beginners and learning along the way.

What we learned

  • How to use React Native with Kiro’s IDE effectively.
  • Importance of balancing design and performance.
  • That even beginners can create impactful projects with teamwork.

What's next for ZenZone

  • Adding more personalized features like journaling and guided meditation.
  • Expanding AI chatbot capabilities for deeper conversations.
  • Improving offline mode for accessibility anywhere.
  • Launching ZenZone as a public wellness app to support students and professionals.
